Ramblin' Dan's Workshop Blog
Welcome! Blog pages are intended for two way dialog with the author of the posts presented. Readers are encouraged to participate in this expression of thoughts and ideas. Guest comments are welcome. Personal emails are never published. You don't need to register to post a comment although you can join to subscribe to the blog and receive email notifications of new posts. Registering does not enable personal posting of new topics.
This blog replaces the original function and intention of the Shop Notes Menu tab. Shop notes will remain available and may be used occasionally for high priority topics. The blog format is friendlier and encourages reader feedback if desired. This is the place where new projects and updates will first appear.

The RD Forum
Just invented here. I just put up a forum website called “The RD Forum” There is a link in the left hand column under Companion Links. A forum is a throwback to the days when I used to offer a PHP Forum named.”TEDEX”
It operated for several years and had about 100 or more user/followers registered. Content was mostly about machine shop activities and there was 6 or 8 categories. This was before I starting writing blogs on the same topics.
The site was busy, but then started to be over-run by Mid-East and East European spammers. That took the fun out of being the webmaster and I switched to better behaved and stronger spam protection from WordPress, Joomla (this site) and Drupal CMS systems. But all the interaction disappeared.
If you would like to ask me questions or share your experience in a forum context rather than this blog, please visit, register and we will see where the RD Forum takes us.
I will create new Categories as necessary. I am considering the things in which I have an interest, but that is not a limitation. The open forum is a good start. See you there?

This website may be a bust. It is totally installed and operational except for one major flaw. It won't send emails from the StackIdeas forum software. Joomla sends emails but not the forum. Inherent genetic defect I suppose. It cost me nothing but time, so I will probably "pull the plug". Tsk...
