Smokey Hollow
I have been going through a lot of character building and learning experiences this last week. I have discovered new ways for things to go wrong. Maybe it has something to do with trying. You know, you can't lose if you don't try.
Ah, so maybe it is a trying experience. Whatever, life has been interesting the last few days.
I had a scheduled dental cleaning. The dentist discovered a chipped filling. Next day he replaced the old filling. Ten hours later the new filling fell out. Yep, a do over...
I tried a triple burn out (three flasks) in my kiln. In one flask the wax didn't clear properly. Bad smoke out of the kiln and the workshop (caugh, caugh) and another do over. That was as bad a two fillings in one tooth, maybe three.
The culprit is the bell casting. It was caused by the vent wax on the top that I never tried to do before. I should have run it as a single but I was trying to make the most of the kiln heat. Now I know.
That do over is today as I post this blog. I better go check on it...
