Then There Were Two

DSC07108Click to enlargeThe V-carved  sewing boxes are ready for staining and finishing. Two of them is twice the work but I am already experienced when I start to work on number two.

Here all the sanding is complete and the hinges are installed and tested. Construction is actually complete. The boxes are setting there stark naked. Reminds me when I used to buy nude furniture. My kitchen table and chairs came that way.

My spouse has her choice of stain. She takes that duty very seriously. Very particular about the proper shade. Stain and wood, especially red oak is never an exact science, so I let the wood go where it wants and let it go at that.

Net report should be the finish and probably a few close up shots of the twins and the carving detail..
