Lost Wax Ramblings

What I really want to do is get into my wax carving and lost wax casting. I want to live up to my motto: "Doing what I love for those who love what I do." No one loves (maybe they "like") me for say, just running my web store. I need several more major items before I can move farther along in my cre...b2ap3_thumbnail_vacchamber.jpg

This was the firs...b2ap3_thumbnail_DSC03651.jpg

CNC Wax Carving

I cheated on carving wax by hand. These were done with my Taig micro-mill. They are wax and the both measure 1/8"x1"x2" and they are designed to be a key ring tag. The owl is the family crest for the name Kautz. I first found a line drawing of the owl and designed the rest in Aspire software. The fi...b2ap3_thumbnail_DSC03647.jpg

Tempus Fugit

I can't believe it is nearly the end of October. Last night was the last wax carving and silver casting class. Eight weeks have gone by. I did get the Celtic Knot cast and the sprues sawed and filled off last night. Other than that it is still in need of a serious post cast clean-up. Pictures will b...
