Figuring on This (The Low Workbench)

I am in the process of designing and adding a lower level working surface to my main workbench. The main bench is 36.5 inches high and that is a great height to work at the bench while standing or sitting on a stool. I have noted it is also the perfect height for the back area of a jewelers' style workbench.

What I really want is a lower working surface so I can sit in a regular comfortable office chair and work for hours without getting fatigued. I want a working surface down around 30 - 32 inches. I am posting my brainstorming sketches showing how I think about these things.

The first page is totally off the wall and was only my brainstorming. The second drawing is what I am building. The parts list is already kitted as I cut all the parts on my table saw today. Assembly should start tomorrow  but I have a boatload of honey-do's. <sigh>
