This is one of my favorite CNC carving subjects. The Tonalpohualli, the sacred Aztec and sometimes called the Mayan Calendar. I have run this in many sizes and in many materials. It was originally drawn for use on carving a very big surface like a table top. That original drawing was called the Aztec Calendar. Here I am down to about 1-3/4 inches. A lot of fine detail is lost as it is too small to see or carve but the general format is good.
It is an exercise for me to see how small I could go with the design. This of course will end up as a necklace pendant and will probably contain an ounce and a half of silver. This is about as big and heavy as I usually want to go, but I never say never. Someday I might want to do a belt buckle or something else more massive. :)
