b2ap3_thumbnail_nosol.jpgHere is a little sign I whipped up in Aspire (Vectric) for my front porch. This is a picture from the software but the actual sign presently looks exactly the same. I will post additional actual pictures once I have it finished painted. It is a piece of red oak 5.5"x18.0"x0.5" and carved about 0.1875" (3/16") deep. This is super simple but a sign I needed. (Click on it for a larger view.)

The HB2 overhead CNC router is alive and well and used to make the carving with a 1/4" ball end cutter. I haven't shown the HB2 in action much lately. CNC is becoming old hat with way too many video posting of machines running back and forth. I think everyone has the idea by now. I will be showing more of what can be made and maybe just a pix or two showing the machine. I will admit I still like to watch it run, doing its thing.

What prompted this little project is I have been home for a week and I got some really weird solicitors knocking on my door. This sign may give then second thought. I struggled with the wording thinking "No Soliciting" or No Solicitors". I settled on this as it seems to take care of both. If there are no solicitors there can be no soliciting... Ha...

I have already stained it natural and I am waiting for the varnish to dry. I'll probably use black lettering as I don't want it to "jump out" too much. Just something I can point to before I close the door.
