What's this? A picture of nothing? Looks like I have been cornered. What you see here is how I extended a single 120v, 20A circuit from near the ceiling to a more usable location. I never completely understood why the builder installed a 20A single outlet so close to the ceiling. The breaker box labeled the circuit "sprinkler system" so I assume the electrician thought the control box would be mounted near the ceiling where it could never be programmed.
I used it for plugging in the florescent light over my bench. I have a better purpose for it now as I am going to be using it for a small high temp kiln. (More on that later) This install is better looking and safer than a cord or extension cord running up the wall.
The conduit is called "Wiremold" made by Legrand here in the USA. It is a UL certified all steel conduit system. The complete installed cost including Wiremold components, 12ga. wiring, new outlet and covers is under $75.00. I got my agile son Steve (who is also a qualified electrician) to do the climbing and installation. That cost a spaghetti dinner. The cover is missing on the top box as we decided it didn't need the old outlet up there that I can't reach. So I picked up a cover plate after this picture was taken.
Yeah, I could have dropped it straight down the wall but where it is now places it where it can be used from either bench. without an extension cord. Do it once, do it right. :-)
