That's just me, scratching my itch.
I dug out my Parallax hardware which includes a "Basic Stamp" and a "Propeller" microprocessors. I at one time had them talking to each other through the "XBee" RF modules. All part of my "Remote Conning" or Radio (computer) control for model boats.
It's going to be a starting over exercise as I have long forgotten all the details of the past code writing. I haven't (yet) found the old code, but I know I stored it somewhere. It is still in the on board memories but that may get lost when restarting the exercise.
This hardware is also a version or two behind the latest and greatest, but will be perfectly functional. If I get a hot enough fire rekindled, I can upgrade. I don't need to invest any new cash at this point. Just for a few 9 volt batteries to power th up this hardware.
I have been thinking of acquiring one of the very simple robotic kits rather than the boat if I stick to this "itch". Far easier than running out to the lake to run tests but the learning will be still suitable for boat control. The boat is the ultimate goal.
Another direction is building home automation controls. Just because I can.
Just depends on how long I can keep scratching this programming itch...
